Language Immersion Summer Camp in Ahwatukee, Arizona

 in Amici Trilingual Montessori is excited to continue providing summer camp for children in Ahwatukee. Our program curriculum is designed to teach your child Mandarin, Spanish, computer programming, Coding and technology skills while having fun!

Campers will learn half of the day in a full Spanish immersion classroom, have lunch/outdoor time, and then spend the other half of the day in a full immersion Mandarin classroom. Technology will be taught for one hour each day in English. Amici has partnered with Playful Digital Learning to provide technology education for the camp.
The languages will be taught organically and naturally at our summer camps for kindergartners in Ahwatukee. This is done through weekly thematic units exploring art, geography, language, mathematics, music, and science as we travel around the world and learn about each continent.

Daily Schedule

Grades K-2 Technology

Playful Digital Learning will use Scratch Jr. for children ages 5-8 years old. Scratch Jr. is a visual programming language specifically for young children to introduce coding skills. With Scratch Jr., students will learn how to solve problems, create their own interactive stories, and games. Children will be able to use programming blocks to execute their ideas to modify their characters to move, jump, dance, or sing.

Grades 3-6 Technology

Playful Digital Learning will use Minecraft for children ages 9-12 years old. Minecraft is a sandbox video game like a 3D online version of LEGO building. Minecraft can teach children fundamentals of programming skills, engineering mindset, problem-solving, project management skills, collaboration with peers, and creative thinking. Students will get challenges each week and will need to design to solve their challenges. Students will develop computational thinking and programming fundamentals with this block-based coding method.

Mandarin Teacher
Ms. Jing was born in China and moved to the United States after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Ms. Jing has over five years of experience working in an elementary school setting and has taught numerous extracurricular classes here at Amici such as Parent and Me Mandarin. Ms. Jing is a passionate early childhood educator who finds joy in teaching children new concepts and aligns her classes with her education philosophy that all students are unique individuals that learn and thrive at their own pace. ​​

Ms. Juanita

Spanish Teacher
Ms. Juanita was born in Ciudad Acuna Coahuila Mexico and moved to the United States shortly after graduating High School. Ms. Juanita recently completed her Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University and has been working in the education field for seventeen years. Her extensive education background spans across an inclusive preschool program and a dual language program at one of the local public schools.
